A description of n-ary semigroups polynomial-derived from integral domains
We provide a complete classification of the n-ary semigroup structures
defined by polynomial functions over infinite commutative integral domains with
identity, thus generalizing G{\l}azek and Gleichgewicht's classification of the
corresponding ternary semigroups
Associative polynomial functions over bounded distributive lattices
The associativity property, usually defined for binary functions, can be
generalized to functions of a given fixed arity n>=1 as well as to functions of
multiple arities. In this paper, we investigate these two generalizations in
the case of polynomial functions over bounded distributive lattices and present
explicit descriptions of the corresponding associative functions. We also show
that, in this case, both generalizations of associativity are essentially the

Representations of Menger -semigroups by multiplace functions
Investigation of partial multiplace functions by algebraic methods plays an
important role in modern mathematics were we consider various operations on
sets of functions, which are naturally defined. The basic operation for
-place functions is an -ary superposition , but there are some
other naturally defined operations, which are also worth of consideration. In
this paper we consider binary Mann's compositions \op{1},...,\op{n} for
partial -place functions, which have many important applications for the
study of binary and -ary operations. We present methods of representations
of such algebras by -place functions and find an abstract characterization
of the set of -place functions closed with respect to the set-theoretic
inclusion
Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov calculations for nuclei with tetrahedral deformation
Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov solutions corresponding to the tetrahedral
deformation are found in six tetrahedrally doubly-magic nuclei. Values of the
beta32 deformation, depths of the tetrahedral minima, and their energies
relative to the co-existing quadrupole minima are determined for several
versions of the Skyrme force. Reduction of the tetrahedral deformation energies
by pairing correlations is quantitatively analysed. In light nuclei, shallow
tetrahedral minima are found to be the lowest in energy, while in heavy nuclei,

We describe the representations of -semigroups, i.e. groupoids with
binary associative operations, by partial -place functions and prove
that any such representation is a union of some family of representations

Evaluation of thermal pattern distributions in racehorse saddles using infrared thermography
The impact of a riderâs and saddleâs mass on saddle thermal pattern distribution was evalu ated using infrared thermography (IRT). Eighteen racehorses were ridden by four riders with
their own saddle. Images of the saddle panels were captured at each of six thermographic
examinations. On each image, six regions of interest (ROIs) were marked on the saddle
panels. The mean temperature for each ROI was extracted. To evaluate the influence of
load on saddle fit, 4 indicators were used: ÎTmax (difference between the mean temperature
of the warmest and coolest ROI); standard deviation of the mean temperature of the six
ROIs; right/left; bridging/rocking and front/back thermal pattern indicator. Incorrect saddle fit
was found in 25 measurements (23.1%) with ÎTmax greater than 2ËC. The relationships
between rider and saddle fit as well as saddle fit and horse were significant (p<0.001). An
average ÎTmax in rider A was significantly higher than in other riders (p<0.001). The right/left
thermal pattern differed significantly from the optimal value for riders A and B; while the
bridging/rocking thermal pattern differed significantly from this value for riders A, C and D
(p<0.05). Front saddle thermal pattern was most frequent for rider A (41.5%), whereas back
saddle thermal pattern was most frequent for rider C (85.7%). Measurement of the mean
temperature in 6 ROIs on saddle panels after training was helpful in assessing the influence
of rider and saddle mass on saddle fit. IRT offered a non-invasive, rapid and simple method

Cellular Assays for High-Throughput Screening for Modulators of Trk Receptor Tyrosine Kinases
Trk receptor tyrosine kinases are required for signal transduction initiated by neurotrophins leading to cell proliferation, differentiation, survival and death. Alterations in Trk kinase activity have been linked to various diseases. To address the need for cell-based assays for screening and studying the selectivity of Trk kinase modulators, we developed high-throughput cell-based assays for Trk receptor kinases using nuclear factor of activated T-cells (NFAT) beta-lactamase reporter lines stably expressing full length human Trk kinases. These assays were functionally validated with cognate neurotrophin(s), inhibitors and TRK RNAi oligos and demonstrated for their utility in identifying potent and selective modulators of Trk receptor kinases
GDR Feeding of the Highly-Deformed Band in 42Ca
The gamma-ray spectra from the decay of the GDR in the compound nucleus
reaction 18O+28Si at bombarding energy of 105 MeV have been measured in an
experiment using the EUROBALL IV and HECTOR arrays. The obtained experimental
GDR strength function is highly fragmented, with a low energy (10 MeV)
component, indicating a presence of a large deformation and Coriolis effects.
In addition, the preferential feeding of the highly-deformed band in 42Ca by

Interplay of quark and meson degrees of freedom in a near-threshold resonance
We investigate the interplay of quark and meson degrees of freedom in a
physical state representing a near-threshold resonance for the case of a single
continuum channel. We demonstrate that such a near-threshold resonance may
possess quite peculiar properties if both quark and meson dynamics generate
weakly coupled near-threshold poles in the S-matrix. In particular, the
scattering t-matrix may possess zeros in this case. We also discuss possible

Strong Deformation Effects in Hot Rotating 46Ti
Exotic-deformation effects in 46Ti nucleus were investigated by analysing the
high-energy gamma-ray and the alpha-particle energy spectra. One of the
experiments was performed using the charged-particle multi-detector array ICARE
together with a large volume (4"x4") BGO detector. The study focused on
simultaneous measurement of light charged particles and gamma-rays in
coincidence with the evaporation residues. The experimental data show a
signature of very large deformations of the compound nucleus in the Jacobi
transition region at the highest spins. These results are compared to data from
previous experiments performed with the HECTOR array coupled to the EUROBALL
array, where it was found that the GDR strength function is highly fragmented,
